Nordic Innovation is looking for a new director who has strong leadership skills and can further develop the organisation. Their ideal candidate also has the ability to ensure a good working environment within the organisation as well as to motivate employees and provide them with clear direction in their work.
Important tasks include:
Further developing the role of Nordic Innovation as a competent key player within the spheres of Nordic innovation and trade co-operation.
Strengthening the organisation’s visibility, reputation and profile.
Creating a modern and dynamic organisation with motivated, knowledgeable workers.
Further developing co-operation among actors in the Nordic innovation system and other relevant actors in the Nordic countries, the EU and the rest of the world.
Strengthening the organisation’s focus on achieving measurable results.
Several years of managerial experience, preferably from a knowledge-based organisation
Language requirements: oral and written proficiency in mastery of both English and one Scandinavian language (Swedish, Danish or Norwegian). A good understanding of all Scandinavian languages is required
Ideally, they are looking for a director with the following competences:
Excellent ability to build relationships and networks and to co-operate with various stakeholders
Experience from the business sector, including insight into the innovation challenges that businesses face
Experience of working in a political environment and with public administration
Strong communicative skills and the ability to engage people
Experience of working with organisational change and development
The managing director, will play a crucial role in further developing Nordic Innovation within the sphere of Nordic co-operation, with overall objectives of generating increased value creation through cross-border co-operation and establishing the Nordic countries as a world-leading region for innovation and sustainable growth.
You will work closely with various actors in the Nordic countries’ innovation system as well as the Secretariat for the Nordic Council of Ministers. Although the focus is on the Nordic countries, establishing and maintaining contact at the European level and with other regions in the world is also an important part of the role.

The position will involve both regional and world travel. The Norwegian state provision on executive pay is applicable. This is a fixed-term contract for four years, with the possibility of renewing for another four years.
